Celebrity writes Novel

by admin on May 21, 2010

Celebrity memoirs are a dime a dozen nowadays, but supermodel-turned-TV personality Tyra Banks is transforming a somewhat exceptional organization: celebrities who have turn into writers.

Banks, 36, has now made a three-book contract with Random House. The string of novels, called “Modelland,” will be intended for young adults. The series will introduce models having extraordinary powers, although Banks has said several characters might be structured on people she is familiar with.

Though it is exceptional for celebrities to write works of fiction, it is far from unheard of. One little-known star writer is Bill O’Reilly — that’s right, the gentleman from Fox News — who in 1998 wrote a killer story named as “Those Who Trespass.” Also musician Jimmy Buffett, who in 2004 published an American westerner named, “A Salty Piece of Land.”

We wish best wishes for Tyra Banks in this new adventure.
